Siaka Baya in Mali: ‘My mission is to make Artemisia better known’.

In Baguineda, Mali, Siaka Baya is firmly committed to promoting Artemisia. He is a retired weather engineer and a farmer, and now runs the Maison de l’Artemisia in Baguineda and is working for a malaria-free Mali.

He discovered Artemisia in 2016. A practical man, he began by trying it out on himself and those around him, in the form of herbal tea, to prevent and treat malaria. The results were convincing.

In 2020, he founded the Maison de l’Artemisia in Baguineda, run by a multidisciplinary team. The MdA is located on the Baya integrated farm, an agro-ecological site covering around 0.75 hectares where cattle, poultry, market gardening and, above all, Artemisia are grown.
