In Benin, an agro-ecological farm, a school and a secondary school

In Banigbé, Benin, the Maison de l’Artemisia is made up of three sections: the La Providence agro-ecological farm, the primary nursery school and the Laudato Si Catholic secondary school.

In the educational farm, pupils are trained in agro-ecology and entrepreneurship. The farm develops Artemisia annua and Artemisia afra for human, animal and environmental health

The agro-ecological project covers two hectares of land. It aims to :

– empower widows and poor families by promoting market gardening as a means of combating malnutrition ;

– train pupils in respect for the environment, and raise their awareness of how to work the land, so that they can replicate agroecology practices within their families and ensure their food security ;

– develop and disseminate the culture and knowledge of Artemisia, to prevent and treat malaria in the communities and combat school absenteeism.

A global project to improve education and overall health, as well as food security for local communities.
